Carbon fiber trombones. A slide that stays straight.

The outer slide is carbon. It cannot bend and it cannot dent. It is made straighter than brass ever could be. The gap in the slide stays very small, so the trombone is airtight. The instrument sits the same in your hand in every slide position. Every trombone is made to order, down to the bore size.

Carbon, not because it is lighter.

Because the bell stays still, warms up in seconds and does not dent or corrode.

  • The carbon outer slide cannot bend and cannot dent.
  • No dents, no corrosion, no re-lacquering.
  • About 10 percent less energy for the same result. Measured in the lab.
  • You have more left at the end of the night.
  • Warm in seconds.
  • Handmade in Switzerland. Andi assembles and tests every instrument in Lachen.

Played by Arturo Sandoval, Trombone Shorty, Greg Boyer, Quentin Collins, Rick Braun and many others.

Common questions.

Does carbon sound different from brass?

Nobody hears the difference. In a blind test, listeners could not tell carbon from brass.

How tough is a carbon instrument?

Five times stronger than it needs to be. None has broken since 2009. One bell was run over by a car and survived.

How much does a daCarbo trombone cost?

Trombones from €2,990. You order on the call and pay by bank transfer or card. The price includes tax, customs duty and shipping, so nothing is added when the instrument arrives.

What comes with the instrument?

The Tenor Jazz and the Tenor with F-attachment come in a daCarbo gig bag. The ChangeMaker Trombone comes in a hard case.

Can I try a daCarbo before I buy one?

No shop or dealer near you? Then ask Andi on the call. Where it can be arranged, he arranges it. And you have 30 days to send the instrument back after it arrives.

What if I want to send it back?

You have 30 days from the day the instrument arrives. Custom builds are not included. You pay the return shipping. You get your money back once the instrument is back with us in as-new condition.

Andi helps you pick.

That is what the call is for. Andi listens to how you play first. Then your instrument is found, and customised if you need that.
